What we do
We document use cases with reusable interaction patterns, reusing data shapes across patterns, that in turn reuse terms from vocabularies.
We run events, mainly in Ghent, to create consensus and share knowledge in a triple helix (government, industry, and academia) fostering interoperable implementations.
The Trustflows network will be the start of the creation of new consortia for innovation projects with the charter as common basis.

Use cases
-
Signing a charter
A Trustflow for letting organisations sign the Trustflows charter, or any other charter, using email verification, explicit DPV consent for publishing a representative name, and a W3C Verifiable Credential that cryptographically binds the signature triples to the charter.
2026-01 -
Bariatric care
Bariatric care entails long-term support on weight management and improving related health issues. For this purpose, we implemented a patient-centric data architecture using Solid-based personal data vaults. These vaults enable verifiable, privacy-preserving sharing of clinical, lifestyle, and sensor data for coordinated care, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
2025-11 -
Tracking shipments (logistics)
Tracking shipments across multimodal supply chains often requires multiple platforms and fragile integrations. This use case explores how a logistics data space can provide end-to-end visibility with policy-based sharing and usage control.
2025-04 -
Selective sharing of accredited personal data in HR
A use case that explored secure, selective sharing of accredited personal data in a Solid ecosystem for HR workflows, combining policy checking, data minimization, and identity components with an end-to-end demonstrator.
2025-02
Event calendar
We organise events in Ghent in collaboration with government, industry, and academia, to together come to common and interoperability implementation patterns for trust on the Web. Our upcoming events are listed here:
-
2026-01-19
SolidLab closing event
Ghent, BelgiumClosing event of the SolidLab project, and the launch of Trustflows.
-
2026-09-15
The Semantics conference
Ghent, BelgiumA 3 day conference we’re bringing to Ghent, bringing together industry, governmental organisations and academia on the topic of semantic interoperability and knowledge graphs.
The community
Want to get your organisation involved in the Trustflows community or present your work during an event? Send an e-mail to Pieter Colpaert.
The community members are participants that will agree to the principles in the charter during our first community event:

Knowledge Graphs
February–June 2026Managing data on one machine for a single use is fairly straightforward. It is from the moment that datasets need to be shared across applications and combined with datasets managed by other organisations, that more complex computer science and information technology challenges arise.
This course deep-dives into the state of the art in creating Knowledge on WebScale, and takes you on a quest to fully automate data integration.
- Open Data & FAIR
- Linked Data & RDF
- SHACL/ShEx validation
- SPARQL & federated querying
- Data architectures & event streams
- Trust on the Web
